
The Flippin City Council’s regular August session is set for Tuesday evening. A public hearing will be held prior to the meeting starting at 5:45.
The public hearing will feature consideration for applying for Rural Service Block Grant funds to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. During the meeting, the council will consider a resolution establishing an antidisplacement plan in compliance with AEDC grant programs.
The council will also vote on resolutions authorizing the city to submit an Arkansas Community and Economic Development Program grant application to the state of Arkansas and designating a non-profit agency as a grant administrator. In addition, Mayor Jerald Marberry is set to request scrapping an old city car, and the council will vote on purchasing another vehicle for the city and a resolution prohibiting the use of excessive force by law enforcement against individuals engaged in non-violent civil rights demonstrations.
The meeting and public hearing will be held in the Flippin School District’s administration building.
