A minor earthquake was recorded early Thursday morning on the south end of the Baxter/Marion county line. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was Magnitude 3.7 on the Richter Scale.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located nearly 8 1/2 miles north of Big Flat, 12 miles south-southeast of Gassville, 14 1/2 miles south of Mountain Home and 39 1/2 miles east-southeast of Harrison. The quake occurred at 1:42 a.m.
Reports have been received from citizens across North Central Arkansas and Southern Missouri who reported feeling the quake. No damage or injuries have been reported.
