MH splits junior high football games at Greene County Tech

Mountain Home had mixed results Thursday, as two of its junior high football teams went to Paragould to meet Greene County Tech.

The freshmen game ended with the Junior Bombers falling to the Junior Golden Eagles 13-9. After Tech jumped to an early lead, Mountain Home tied the score on a one-yard run by Shane Rowden. Masen Walker had the big run in the drive after a 76-yard carry went to the two-yard line. The Bombers had the lead for most of the night, after Jack Sheaner hit a 26-yard field goal near the end of the first half. The Junior Eagles scored the winning touchdown pass with just over two minutes left in the game. Walker led Mountain Home with 99 yards on 11 carries.

The Eighth Grade Bombers fared better. as they beat Tech 20-6. Brady Lance began the Mountain Home scoring with a three-yard touchdown run, and William Cottongim added a two-point conversion. Cottongim later scored on a 30-yard run, and Cade Yates had the last score for the Eighth Grade Bombers on a 65-yard run. Mountain Home improves to 2-1 on the season.
