
A popular downtown restaurant in Mountain Home has been destroyed by fire. The Olde Tyme Restaurant on the downtown square has been a favorite location for breakfast and lunch for many years, but flames have destroyed the historic building on the east side of the square.
Mountain Home Fire Chief Ken Williams says his department happened to discover the fire early.

The fire was on the second floor of the building and difficult to get to, according to Chief Williams.

Chief Williams says a fire on the square with all of the businesses connected has been something he as worried about as long as he has been chief.

Chief Williams says no adjacent businesses received any fire damage, although there might be some smoke damage to those closest to the restaurant.
Scott Callies, who along with his wife Amanda own Olde Tyme Restaurant, says he was shocked to see the damage.

Callies says he’s been in touch with his insurance company and hopes to rebuild the restaurant.

Chief Williams says they had an “all-call” for the fire, which means all full-time firefighters, including those off-duty, along with volunteers responded to fight the blaze. He says no auto aide was needed.
No injuries were reported in battling the blaze.
