In basketball action Tuesday night, the Mountain Home junior boys played their preseason benefit game and defeated Highland 27-21. The Junior Bombers open their season Saturday at the Cub Classic in Searcy. The eighth grade boys play at Cave City Saturday.
Izard County won three games at home against Mountain Home Christian Academy.
In the senior girls’ contest, Izard County cruised to an 80-23 win. Allison Newman, Cassidy Coleman and Delilah Coulter each scored 14 points for the Lady Cougars, Emily Jackson had 13 and Abbi Marlin scored 11.
In the junior girls’ game, Izard County topped MHCA 50-12. Ava Lewis led the Junior Lady Cougars with 18 points.
Izard County squeaked out a 38-36 win in the junior boys’ game. Noah Stevenson paced the Junior Cougars with 22 points.
