The Ava High School football team has punched its ticket to play for its first ever state championship. The Bears needed overtime Saturday on their home field, but they were able to get past Clark County 20-14 in the semifinals of the Class 2 State Playoffs. Ava remains undefeated in 14 games on the season, and they’ll meet Lutheran North from St. Louis in the title game Friday at Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of Missouri in Columbia.
