Holiday activities are set for Saturday in Bakersfield with the theme “Christmas movies.”The festival begins with Breakfast with Santa from 9 until 11 at the Bakersfield School cafeteria.
Families are encouraged to bring their own cameras for photos.
A Christmas parade follows at 11:30 Saturday morning, with the lineup set for 11 by the high school gym. Floats will be judged, with awards for first, second and third place, a school-affiliated float and prizes for the best costumed or decorated horse.
Celebrity youth contests are also included in the day’s festivities. High school-aged Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas, middle school-aged Mr. and Miss Snowflake and elementary school-aged Little Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas will be recognized. The celebrity contest winners will be chosen at Bakersfield School before the festival.
