The Gassville City Council’s first session of 2020 begins Tuesday evening at 6 and will include action on a vacancy. Former alderman Thom Embach recently relocated and had to resign on New Year’s Eve from the Ward 1, Position 2 seat, and the council will consider applicants for the position.

Other items of new business include two budget resolutions, the American Disabilities Act self-evaluation report and the organization of government items.

Under unfinished business, two proposed ordinances will have their second reading. One ordinance would rezone property on Whitaker Lane from residential R-2 to commercial C-2, and the other ordinance addresses compensation for the city’s building inspector.

The meeting will be held in the Gassville Community Center on South School Street.
