Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, stories have emerged detailing how everyday people are stepping up to help communities, all across America and right here in the Twin Lakes Area.Inspired by the movement MH CARES, a trio of local businessmen are stepping up to provide 600 pizzas to front-line workers and those in need Thursday in Mountain Home.Brant Barnes, a Mountain Home native, is the owner of several Papa John’s franchises across the state, including the Mountain Home store. Barnes, along with his father, Lewis, are both Shelter Insurance agents. After the company decided to give local agents $1,000 for their local communities, the elder Barnes and fellow agent Scott Tabor of Mountain Home donated their funds to the Salvation Army in Mountain Home to feed those in need.Aiding the most people as possible is the goal, Brant Barnes says.

A long-time friend of MH CARES co-founder Kirk Brown, Barnes says partnering with the Salvation Army of Mountain Home to feed those in need was an easy choice, after the relief organization aided MH CARES through its first three acts of generosity. Barnes also says it’s not too late to donate to Thursday’s event.

To serve members of the community in need of a meal, the Salvation Army’s canteen will be set up in the parking lot of Papa John’s pizza, located at 71 North Cardinal in Mountain Home.
