Mountain Home woman injured in crash dies 7 days later

A former member of the Baxter County Quorum Court and Mountain Home School Board has died from injuries she sustained in a wreck seven days earlier. Seventy-year-old Bonnie Brown of Mountain Home was injured in a the crash May 3 and died from her injuries Sunday at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

According to the Arkansas State Police (ASP) preliminary fatal crash report, Brown’s vehicle was struck at the intersection of State Highway 201 and the U.S. Highway 62/412 Bypass at 1:55 the afternoon of May 3. The ASP says a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Bailey Eugene O’Brien of Mountain Home was traveling on the bypass when his vehicle struck Brown’s vehicle, which was stationary at the intersection. O’Brien’s vehicle ran the red light at the intersection, according to the crash summary.

The ASP report does not indicate if an charges have been filed in connection with the accident.

No funeral arrangements have been announced for Brown. She and her husband, Dan, are co-founders of Billing Specialists, Inc. in Mountain Home.
