The Rotary Club of Mountain Home has awarded ten $1,000 scholarships again this year to area high school graduates.

The following are the recipients and the institutions they will be attending:

Recipients from Cotter High School are Courtney Benedict, Arkansas Tech University; Christianne Crunkleton, University of Arkansas; and Kaylee Middleton, Arkansas State University.

Recipients from Mountain Home High School are Anna Grace Foreman, Arkansas Tech University; Satchel Harris, University of Arkansas; William Knox, University of Arkansas; Ashlynn Martin, University of Central Arkansas; and Anna Rogero, University of Arkansas.

Additional scholarships were given to Norfork High School graduate Tyler Sorters, University of Arkansas; and to home-schooled student Katherine Chamberlin, University of Arkansas.

In addition to these recipients, the Rotary Club gave a donation of $8,000 to “The Promise,” a local scholarship fund which awards free tuition to any Mountain Home High School student attending Arkansas State University-Mountain Home.

Through the community support of the annual pancake breakfast, club members provide educational assistance to the local graduates. For over 30 years, the main project of the MH Rotary club has been to award scholarships to area graduates for a brighter future through education.
