The Memorial Day service and the 20-year anniversary celebration of the Mountain Home Plaza 2000 previously scheduled for Monday has been postponed until July 4 at 11 a.m. The plaza is located on Main Street across from the Baxter County Courthouse.

Other celebrations, including one in Marshall, will still be observed on the Memorial Day holiday. The ceremony in Marshall will take place at 11 a.m outside the Veteran’s Memorial Hall. Attendees will observe social distancing by remaining in their vehicles. State Rep. Keith Slape will speak at the event.

The ceremony will also be broadcast on 88.1 FM. Due to COVID-19, no food will be served this year.

Several businesses and government offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. Government offices to be shut include all Baxter County offices and Gassville City Hall, and the North Arkansas Transportation Service will not be running.
