A man who has made numerous harassing phone calls to law enforcement calling himself Jesus Christ, the devil and Conway Twitty version 2.0 has been arrested. Fifty-eight-year-old Glenn Hall Luther is facing over 70 charges for the calls.
According to affidavits in the case, Hall has made threatening and harassing calls to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Mountain Home Police Department, the City of Briarcliff, Baxter Regional Medical Center and a local doctor’s office.
The calls made to the city offices in Briarcliff started around Sept. 26 last year. The affidavit says when Luther would call, he referred to himself as Glenn Hall Luther, Glenn Wolf, Jesus Christ, the devil and Conway Twitty version 2.0. In the calls and messages left, Luther allegedly demands money from the city for property he said he purchased from another man believed to be his domestic partner. In another contact, he called the city clerk several offensive names and said he was going to “gut her.” In other messages, Luther says “I’m digging your graves” and advised he is going to make sure the mayor dies along with the “Briarcliff Pig Cop.” Over 25 calls were made to Briarcliff city offices.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office reports Luther called the sheriff’s office 72 times in just over an eight-hour span on Dec. 8 last year. The calls started at 6:45 in the morning and continued until 3:06 that afternoon. The affidavit says the calls consisted of threats to law enforcement in Baxter County. The affidavit notes the calls disrupted the operation of dispatch, tied up phone lines and kept dispatchers from being able to perform their duties.
The Mountain Home Police Department took reports from two healthcare entities concerning calls made by Luther. On Sept. 24, Luther allegedly called Baxter Regional Medical Center, identified himself as Glenn Luther and cussed and made threats against the hospital. That same day, and again on Sept. 30, Luther allegedly called a local doctor’s office several times, cussing and making threats against the physician and others in the office.
Luther is facing 75 counts of terroristic threatening, a felony, and 74 counts of harassing communications, a misdemeanor. His bonds total $61,000.
