Kickin Kountry headlines Friday Night Live

This week’s Friday Night Live headliner at Hickory Park in Mountain Home for the final event of the season is the band Kickin Kountry. Music and activities will begin at 7 on the new Farmers & Merchants stage. The Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event is free to the public and kid friendly.
Kickin Kountry is a honky-tonk dance band that plays a little bit of everything. The band has opened for Asleep at the Wheel, Bellamy Bros, Dan Seals, Narvel Felts, Judge Parker, Daryl Singletary, Jeff Carson, Rhett Akins and Chad Brock. They also do some original music.Kickin Kountry has been around for more than 20 years in one form or fashion with several different members, with one constant — Duane Hoppis.The current members are all seasoned musicians and songwriters and include

• Duane Hoppis, lead guitar, vocals

• Russell Joyner, rhythm guitar, vocals

• Ronda Harp, drums, vocals

• J.R. “Gene” Massengale, bass guitar

• Lynn Joyner, vocals

This week’s event is sponsored by Riverlodge Assisted Living of Mountain Home.

A number of food vendors will be on hand selling their specialties.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs when they come out to enjoy what has become a summer tradition.

The Arkansas Department of Health has reviewed and accepted the plan for implementation of the event. Those attending are advised to bring their own masks or face coverings for use when physical distancing is not possible. Physical distancing of 6 feet is still required from person to person or family group to family group. Any lines at food services and entrances will be clearly marked as a visual cue for physical distancing. Hand sanitizer will be available around the venue.
