The Boone County Sheriff’s Office has requested the activation of a Silver Alert following the report of a missing elderly male. Eighty-one-year-old Akira Asaumi was reported missing Wednesday afternoon in an area north of Marble Falls.

Sheriff Tim Roberson says Asaumi is Japanese and speaks little English. He was last seen wearing a brown ball cap, a brown jacket, blue jeans and a dark-colored shirt. The Arkansas State Police says Asaumi is a 4-foot-11-inch tall male weighing 85 pounds with short, black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion.

Asaumi’s last known address was 177 Norton Lane, nearly a half-mile west of Arkansas Highway 7. Sheriff Roberson says he was last seen walking north toward Harrison.
