BATTLEFIELD, Mo. (AP) – Authorities have identified two people found dead after a house fire as a married southwest Missouri couple.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday night that the victims were 59-year old Donald Kipp and 50-year-old Shawna Kipp, both of Battlefield.
The office also said the investigation into Wednesday’s fire is ongoing and the exact cause of death “has not been released at this time,” the Springfield News-Leader reports.
Shawna Kipp had worked as an executive assistant at the News-Leader and later at a law office. Attorney Dee Wampler praised her as “always businesslike” and a “delightful person” who had a “wonderful sense of humor.”
The Kipps had five children between them and multiple grandchildren.
