The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) website indicates the precautionary boil order for the Sylamore Valley Water Association in Stone County has been lifted.

The action by ADH leaves four orders still in place. The four include the East Newton County Water Association for customers south of Arkansas Highway 74 in the Piercetown area, the Deer Water Association in Newton County for customers along Arkansas Highway 327 from Alum Cove to the end of the system, the Pyatt Waterworks system in Marion County for customers along U.S. Highway 62 to east of L.J.’s Liquor and the Calico Rock Waterworks system in Izard County from Red Hill Lane to Main Street.

ADH says under the boil notices, impacted customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption. Water used for drinking or food preparation should be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use.

All ice cubes should be discarded. Only boiled water should be used for making ice.

The notices will be lifted by ADH when two sets of bacteriological samples indicate the water is free of bacterial contamination, and an adequate disinfectant level is established throughout the distribution system.
