Mountain Home Public Schools announced a realignment of its upper-level administration at Thursday’s March meeting of the school board, and the changes will result in a new high school principal next school year.
Superintendent Dr. Jake Long announced Brent Bogy would become the district’s director of academic support, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Caroline Nail will continue her role with the new title of assistant superintendent of teaching and learning. Dr. Dana Brown will serve as the assistant superintendent of administrative services, with a focus on federal programs and career and technical education.

Bogy’s new role will help the district navigate the return from learning as it has existed during the pandemic to what ends up being the new normal in education. Ron Czanstkowski, the district’s director of student services, will hand off his assessment responsibilities to Bogy but will take on the oversight of the district’s English to speakers of other languages program.

The board also approved adjustments to the school calendar for the remainder of the school year. Classes will be in session on both Friday, April 2, and Friday, May 28, after a vote of school employees.
The adjustments were made due an inadvertent listing of makeup days in the school calendar after Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson delayed the opening of schools last August due to COVID-19.
