The Mountain Home School Board will be asked to approve the district’s school-level improvement plans, as well as requests for budget adjustments during its April monthly meeting.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the school’s central office building on Rodeo Drive.
The school-level improvement plans are mandated by Arkansas law and are submitted yearly. According to the meeting’s agenda, the plans “play a critical role in focusing educators efforts on what matters most for learning in order to achieve long-term improvement outcomes.”
The district’s yearly request to the Arkansas Department of Education Special Education Unit to release federal funds will be considered, as well as final budget amendments for the 2020-21 school year.
Board action items also include a request to upgrade the electrical panels at Guy Berry College and Career Academy, at a cost of just over $13,500. The campus currently has three panels that are exceeding their 200 Amp capacity. The repair would replace the three independent panels with two, 225 Amp, 3-phase panels.
The district is also proposing the purchase of two 71-passenger, gasoline-powered, route buses for a price of just under $98,000 each. The buses will replace two current high mileage buses, some of which have over 200,000 miles.
Financial reports, enrollment reports and facility projects updates will be heard, as well as a update from Superintendent Dr. Jake Long. An executive session for personnel is also on the agenda.
