Man killed when vehicle hits tractor trailer backing into factory

A man was killed Saturday morning after his vehicle crashed into a tractor trailer in front of a Harrison factory. According to the Arkansas State Police, 85-year-old Rex Savage of Harrison was pronounced dead after being transported by ambulance to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.

The report from the Harrison Police Department states Savage was traveling on U.S. Highway 65 as the tractor trailer was backing into the loading dock at Pace Industries. Savage reportedly failed to stop, and his vehicle crashed into the trailer, just behind its jacks. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

The road was wet as the rain was falling at the time of the 6:20 a.m. accident.
