Dr. Randy Esters is leaving North Arkansas College to return to his home state of Louisiana, it was announced Wednesday.Esters has accepted a position as Chancellor of Louisiana Delta Community College in Monroe, Northark said. He will begin that position in June.
“It is said that every season must end and a new one begins,” Esters told Northark employees in an email. “I have been so very blessed to be your president for the past 5 years and it has been the biggest honor of my career. Together, we have weathered several major storms and emerged stronger after each one. We have fought together and won together. I can never express my gratitude to all of you for taking a chance on me and believing in our shared vision but I am saddened to announce that my season at this great college has come to an end.”
Esters was Northark’s fourth president. A special Board meeting will be called in the near future to discuss Northark’s plans regarding leadership and the search for a new president, the college said.
