A Lincoln County man is accused of an early morning assault on another male at a Mountain View RV park. Twenty-four-year-old Drew Luker of Star City is in the Stone County Detention Center on a felony count of second-degree battery and a hold for a criminal investigation.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Stone County 911 dispatch contacted a Mountain View officer around 3:40 a.m. April 5 and said a male reported he had been assaulted at the RV park. The officer arrived and made contact with a male, later identified as Luker, who was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant. Luker reportedly could not keep a clear train of thought while speaking with authorities. As he was being placed in the patrol car, Luker attempted to bring his arms under his legs like he was trying to get away and laid down on the ground. The officer and an investigator assisted him in getting back on his feet and placing him in the vehicle.
The officer later made contact with another male who stated he drove to Star City, picked up Luker, drove him to Heber Springs to pick up a vehicle belonging to a female friend, whose driver’s license had expired. The male says Luker followed him in the female’s vehicle, and they arrived at the RV park around 3 a.m. Luker reportedly went toward the male’s dog, and the male told him to come inside and go to sleep. At one point, Luker allegedly told the male, “I respect you, but don’t think I won’t break your damn jaw.”
The male says he again told Luker to lay down on the couch and go to sleep, but Luker charged at him, grabbed his shirt, ripped it and hit the male in the head. The female then woke up and reportedly attempted to pull Luker off the male. Luker eventually stopped and ran out the door. Pictures were taken of the male’s forehead, the top of his head and his ear.
The officer transported Luker to the Stone County Detention Center. Upon arrival, it was discovered he is on probation for third-degree assault, with a search waiver on file.
Luker has a date in Stone County Circuit Court scheduled for May 20.
