Friday night’s storm activity caused multiple trees and power lines to go down, and numerous area residents were without power. Most of the reports of downed trees and lines were in Ozark County, but the majority of the power outages were in North Central Arkansas.

According to the National Weather Service, the first reports in Ozark County came in at 8:40 p.m. There were several reports of outages due to tree limbs from southwestern Douglas County into northwestern Ozark County. Four minutes later, an entire tree was down, completely blocking the road on Missouri Route JJ between Missouri Highway 5 and Thornfield. Another tree was down, partially blocking Missouri Highway 95 between Highway 5 and Thornfield.

At 9:04, an Ozark County deputy reported trees and telephone lines down on U.S. Highway 160 in Theodosia. Ten minutes later, another tree was reported down, blocking Missouri Route AA two miles from Missouri Highway 181. At 9:19, two trees were down on Missouri Route O between Bakersfield and Udall, with one completely blocking the highway near County Road 551.

The last report in Ozark County came in at 9:25 with a tree across Missouri Route PP between Highway 160 and the James Bridge. The tree was later removed by fire personnel.

Spokespersons from the sheriff’s offices in Baxter and Marion counties have also reported multiple trees down, but no structural damage was reported by authorities. However, a listener sent in a photo of a tree having crashed down on a van off Mallard Point Road. Baxter County road and bridge crews have worked throughout the night to get the roads cleared of tree debris.
