Harrison Police Chief Chris Graddy has released the name of a man shot and killed by police Wednesday afternoon in Harrison.
Graddy identified the man as 40-year-old David Aaron King of Pine Bluff. King was identified as an absconder from the Arkansas Board of Parole and located at a residence on North Spring Road.
When police arrived at the residence to arrest King, he allegedly brandished a weapon and was shot by a Harrison officer. King was transported to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
King was wanted for original charges of kidnapping, theft of property and failure to register as a sex offender.
The shooting is under investigation by the Arkansas State Police.
