Two accidents in Ozark County Tuesday send three to hospital

Two separate accidents in Ozark County near Dora Tuesday afternoon and evening have sent three people to the hospital.

The first accident happened at 3:30 on State Highway CC, two miles southeast of Dora. The driver, 19-year-old Tatiana Montalvo of Mountain Grove, and a 17-year-old female from Dora who was a passenger, were both taken to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains with moderate injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened when the car Montalvo was driving ran off the roadway, overturned and struck a fence. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

The second accident happened at 6:13 Tuesday evening on State Highway H, five miles west of Dora, when a tire came off a vehicle and struck another vehicle causing it to crash. The driver of the second vehicle, 77-year-old Charles Roland of West Plains, was airlifted to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield with serious injuries.

The Highway Patrol says after the tire struck Roland’s vehicle, the vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a ditch.

The other driver was not injured.
