MH Hurricanes earn win in first home meet of season

The Mountain Home Hurricanes swim team won their first home meet of the season Saturday at Cooper Park.

Peeka Traver and Joia Traver led the way as each had Junior Olympics qualifying time. Joia swam a J.O. time in the 100 freestyle and also won the 100 backstroke and butterfly. Peeka had a J.O. tim in the 50 free and also won the 100 breaststroke.

Callie Kohler picked up three wins on the day in the 9-10 year old division, winning the 50 backstroke, 50 breaststroke and 100 individual medley.

Ryder Norwick also had three wins, taking the 9-10 year old 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 50 breaststroke.

Caleb Due earned three victories in the boy’s 14 and under in the 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, and 100 fly.

Eve Miller had wins in the 11-12 year old girls in the 50 backstroke and 200 individual medley.

Parker Kohler won the 8 and under 25 freestyle and backstroke.

Others winners include Farrah Coleman in the 8 and under girls in the 25 backstroke,   Megan Yarborough in the 15-18 year olds in the 100 breaststroke, Luke Hilvert in the boy’s 11-12 year olds in the 50 breaststroke, Anthony Jones in the 50 Fly, Aidan Wilson in the boy’s 15-18 year old 100 backstroke, Noah Daugherty in the 15-18 year old 100 fly, Ethan Gambill won the 8 and under boy’s 50 freestyle, Olivia Wham took the senior girl’s 50 freestyle, Reagan Hawkins won the 15-18 year old 200 individual medley, and Fritz Vetter on the senior boy’s individual medley.
