A Mountain Home woman was arrested last Thursday after allegedly breaking into a relative’s house.Jocelyn Michelle Stadler faces a felony charge of residential burglary and misdemeanor charges of theft of property, second-degree criminal mischief and criminal trespass from the alleged break-in. The 21-year-old also faces a felony third-degree escape charge after she allegedly attempted to flee following her arrest.
On Wednesday morning, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Schwartz Road for a break-in. Deputies found numerous window screens cut and a window pushed out of frame and resting inside one of the bedrooms. They also found an abandoned pair of blue pants in the master bedroom and that the shower had been used. A backpack with assorted items belonging to a child living at the residence was reported missing.
A pair of sandals were found in one of the bedrooms, and the resident identified them as belonging to Stadler. The homeowner stated that Stadler had not been allowed on the property for some time because of past issues and that she would like to press charges.
On Thursday, deputies made contact with Stadler’s boyfriend, who confirmed that the sandals found inside the residence belonged to Stadler and provided an address on Ventura Place where she could be located. Deputies found Stadler at that location, placed her under arrest and handcuffed her behind her back.
While transporting Stadler to the Baxter County Detention Center, she allegedly removed her handcuffs, opened the rear passenger door and attempted to flee at the intersection of Buzzard Roost Road and Buzzard Roost Cutoff. Deputies blocked Stadler’s escape, reapplied the handcuffs and transported her to the Baxter County Jail, where she is being held on a $15,000 bond.
