Baxter Music Concert Series returns with The Steel Woods

The Baxter Summer Concert Series will return to downtown Mountain Home this Saturday evening with several changes in place in response to the area’s rising number of COVID-19 cases. The Steel Woods headlines Saturday night’s show, which also includes Tyler Booth and Jon Bailey, with all acts performing on the Farmers and Merchants Bank Stage at Hickory Park. Admission to the show is free, with attendees encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Park gates will open to the public at 6, with the first act taking the stage at 7.

In response to the area’s spike in COVID-19 cases, volunteers will check attendees temperatures as they enter the park Saturday night. Lines to the park’s entrance or to food trucks will be clearly marked as a cue for social distancing. When maintaining 6 feet of space is not possible, attendees are encouraged to use their own judgement whether to use a mask or face covering.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the Twin Lakes Area has spiked in past month, with the number of active cases roughly doubling every 14 days. The Arkansas Department of Health reports that Baxter County currently has 341 active COVID cases. It reported the county had 185 active cases on July 6.

The Summer Concert Series is Mountain Home’s marquee outdoor music program, featuring regional and national acts performing for free at Hickory Park.

Two more dates make up the Summer Concert Series schedule. Red Light Runner will take the stage on Aug. 14, and Kameron Marlow and Heath Sanders will co-headline on Sept. 4 to close out the summer series.
