A recent search of a Mountain Home motel room netted a total of 10 felony counts for two people.

On Thursday, July 15, officers with the 14th Judicial Drug Task Force were watching a motel on Highway 62 East and observed 36-year-old William Shilo Malone of Midway and 40-year-old Kerry Janal Sager of Mountain Home arrive at the motel in a white Volvo S80. Malone reportedly got out of the driver’s seat and entered a motel room using a keycard. After a few minutes, Sager reportedly got out of the passenger seat, knocked on the motel room’s door and was let in by Malone.

Malone and Sager are both on active supervision with a search warrant on file with the Arkansas Department of Probation and Parole, and Malone had a valid warrant issued by the Mountain Home Police Department.

An hour later, Malone and Sager left the motel room and drove the Volvo to a local gas station, where authorities made contact with Malone and placed him into custody. Sager reportedly told authorities that she had rented the motel room, and officers searched that room after making contact at the gas station.

Officers found several bags of a white, crystal-like substance weighing 52.4 grams, two lines of a white, crystal-like substance on the bathroom sink, two digital scales, a bag with multiple Ziploc bags, syringes, and a glass smoking bong with a white residue. Authorities also found a letter addressed to Sager, a debit card with Malone’s name on it, and both men’s and women’s clothing.

Malone and Sager were each charged with possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance (methamphetamine) and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Malone also faces misdemeanor charges of failing to appear in district court and nonpayment of fines.

Malone is being held in the Baxter County Detention Facility on a $20,400 bond while Sager is being held there on a $20,000 bond.
