A Norfork man arrested in June 2019 after officers with a Fugitive Taskforce found drug paraphernalia in his home appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Fifty-five-year-old James Loosey pled guilty to charges of possessing drug paraphernalia and theft by receiving and was sentenced to 10 years probation.

On June 5, 2019, officers went to Loosey’s home located along Wild Fern Lane looking for him for allegedly violating the terms and conditions of a felony probation sentence.

While Loosey was not found at the residence during the initial raid, the officers did arrest five others on various charges.

Loosey was eventually picked up June 20, 2019 when an anonymous caller reported hearing gunshots believed to have come from Loosey’s resident.

Deputies went to the home and were able to locate and arrest Loosey.

Loosey at first refused to exit the residence, but finally came out and was taken into custody.

After Loosey’s arrest on June 20, he posted a $20,000 bond and was released.

After leaving the Baxter County jail, Loosey wound up in a Missouri prison on a probation revocation on earlier charges he had picked up in that state.

Loosey was only recently released from the Missouri prison system.
