Arkansas State University-Mountain Home completed its first Women’s Leadership Retreat Thursday afternoon.
The two-day event at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center taught participants about their individual strengths and began the process of exploring how those strengths could be used in their professional and personal lives. The inaugural retreat class consisted of nine students, all either returning ASUMH students or incoming freshmen.

Leadership coach Michele McWilliams and professional speaker Jana Cardona served as the seminar’s instructors, taking the students through a three-hour block of activities Wednesday afternoon and a six-hour block of activities Thursday.

The retreat was sponsored by the Women’s Business Leadership Center at Arkansas State University.

After the retreat wrapped up, attendees were invited to sign up for the ASUMH Leadership Intern program. Students participating in that program are mentored by local professional women in a variety of leadership development activities.
