A 32-year-old Calico Rock woman was arrested Thursday night after she reportedly broke into a store in Jordan to “hide from the mafia, which was trying to kill her.”Erica Dawn Holland was arrested on charges of commercial burglary, criminal trespass, second-degree criminal mischief and theft of property. Holland’s bond is set at $25,000.

Baxter County 911 dispatch received a call Thursday night from a female, later identified as Holland, advising she had broken into the business in her attempt to hide.

Authorities arrived on scene to find one of the front glass doors of the business shattered and Holland sitting on the curb in front of the store.

Holland told authorities she used a rock to break the glass in an attempt to get in and use the phone. The woman then told authorities, “the mafia had taken her friends captive in the woods.” She was then detained in a patrol cruiser.

While the deputies were assessing the scene, Holland allegedly began to knock on the cruiser’s window, stating “she could hear her friends yelling and saw them walking across the road with the mafia.” Authorities were not able to find any evidence of any other people in the area.

Holland allegedly told deputies she “had taken an Xanax approximately an hour before the incident.” The woman also admitted she had been drinking vodka, but denied being under the influence of other intoxicants.

During the investigation, authorities obtained video footage from the store showing Holland had helped her self to a bottle of soda from the store and still had it on her person when placed into custody, resulting in the theft charge.

When arriving at the detention center, Holland allegedly asked the deputy if he “heard her friends and the mafia outside the jail.”
