The Mountain Home High School football team opened the season Friday night with a tough 28-21 loss at home to Harrison. Brad Haworth has the details.

The Bombers had the ball inside the Harrison five yard line in the final minute when running back Robert Speer broke the line of scrimmage and looked like he might score when he was hit at the one yard line, lost the football which Harrison recovered, and then lied motionless for several minutes before being taken by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center. He reportedly was able to move his arms and legs before leaving the field.
Harrison would strike first in the contest when Logan Plumlee hit Dylan Block with a 7 yard touchdown pass to go up 6-0.
The Bombers answered when Gage Lindsey scored on an eight yard run to give Mountain Home a 7-6 lead.
The Goblins went up 14-7 when Plumlee hooked up with Sloan Barrett on a 10-yard TD pass and a two-point covervsion from Plumlee to Alex Mills.
The Bombers would tie the game at 14 with 17 seconds left before halftime when Speer found the endzone from six yards out.

In the second half, Brodey Gilliam put Harrison ahead for good with a one-yard scoring plunge in the third quarter. Plumlee hooked up with Block a second time for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, this time from 45 yards out.
The Bombers kept fighting. Lindsey scored his second TD of the night with a 20 yard scamper to make it 28-21.
The Bomber defense came up with big back-to-back stops late in the fourth quarter to set up what they hoped to be a game-tying drive before the fumble.
Mountain Home had four turnovers on the night while the Goblins amassed 125 penalty yards with 13 penalties including a number of unsportsman like infractions.
Lindsey finished the game with 100 yards rushing on 20 carries and two touchdowns. The Bombers had 229 yards of total offense while the Goblins had 264.
Harrison improves to 2-0 on the season.
Mountain Home starts 0-1. They will hit the road next Friday with a trip to Jonesboro to face Nettleton.
