Mountain Home girls after finishing 3rd at Frank Horton Invitational

Both Mountain Home High School cross country teams were able to reach the podium Friday at Memphis. The Bombers and Lady Bombers took third place in the Frank Horton Invitational at Shelby Farms Park.

Mountain Home’s top individual performer on the boys’ side was Arkansas State commit Andrew Westphal as he finished fourth with a personal best time of 15:48. Ky Bickford was 11th in 16:18, Hendrix Hughes ended up 17th at 16:29. Anderson Hodges and Ty Lawrence had personal best times of 16:57 and 17:52 respectively, Jacob Lewis ran a season best at 18:14, and Alex Hester turned in a personal best of 18:44.

Jordan Ritenburg led the Lady Bombers with a fifth place finish and a personal best of 19:15. Rylee Patterson was 12th with a personal best of 19:40, Whitney Wilber ran a season best of 21:28 to finish 36th, Erin Smith was 37th at 21:29, and Bailey Ritenburg ended up 44th at 21:32.

Mountain Home was among 20 teams from four different states competing at Memphis. The teams will travel to Fayetteville next Saturday to compete in the Chile Pepper Festival.
