Hunter education class set for Saturday

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will host a hunter education class Saturday morning at 8 in the Gainesville High School community room (the former library).

To be eligible for the class, students must be at least 11 years old on the date of class. Participants must register online. To do so, visit mdc.mo.gov and follow the links to hunter education, skills session, select this class and register.

Participants must complete the “classroom” portion on their own ahead of time and bring proof of completion with them when they come to the skills session. To complete the classroom portion, students must get a student manual and complete all the chapter review questions and then bring the completed manual with them to the skills session or they may complete the classroom portion online and bring the printed certificate of completion to the skills session.

The cost is $15 to complete the online option and print out the certificate of completion; the online fee must be paid by credit card. The student manual option is free.
