ASUMH to host Miss North Central Arkansas Pageant

Arkansas State University-Mountain Home will be the site of a beauty pageant at the end of the month. The Miss North Central Arkansas competition is scheduled for Oct. 30 at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on the campus of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH).

The pageant is for girls residing or attending college in Baxter, Benton, Boone, Carroll, Crawford, Franklin, Fulton, Izard, Marion, Madison, Newton, Searcy, Sharp, Stone and Washington counties. Brooke Barnes-Grisham is one of the directors, and she says the pageant is divided into three age groups.

The cost to enter is $200, with half going to the Miss Arkansas Spotfund to assist with scholarships. In addition to hosting the event, Barnes-Grisham says ASUMH is giving a scholarship to the winner.
