Arkansas’ longest continuous festival gets underway Friday in downtown Yellville. The 75th edition of Turkey Trot, sponsored by the Mid-Marion County Rotary Club, will start its two-day run at the Marion County Courthouse square with a full slate of activities.
The day begins with the All-American breakfast from 6 to 10 at the American Legion Hut Post 61. The opening ceremonies will get underway at noon with the American Legion presenting the colors and Cindy Sutterfield performing “The Star Spangled Banner.” Yellville-Summit’s high school band will then perform followed by the Flippin band.
Wes Dorethy and Larry McGrath will take the stage from 1 to 3. The FBLA Club will sponsor a lip sync contest from 3:30 to 5. More music will be provided by 9N from 5:30 to 7:30. The night will conclude with a street dance from 8 to midnight, and the Jerry Hopper Band will provide the musical accompaniment.
