A Mountain Home High School Career Academies student is the recent winner of a pageant in Harrison. Sixteen-year-old Haylee Silzell was crowned the Northwest Arkansas District Junior Fair Queen at the district fairgrounds.
Silzell won both the interview and evening gown awards. She will go on to compete in the Arkansas State Junior Fair Queen Pageant Oct. 19 in the Arkansas Building at the state fairgrounds in Little Rock. The winner will receive $30,000 in scholarships and prizes.
Silzell is a sophomore at Mountain Home and is a member of the FFA. In addition to the pageant, she will show livestock and cattle at the state fair.
Haylee is the daughter of Tom and Leann Silzell.
