Former KTLO news director headed to MHEF Hall of Honor

A longtime news director at KTLO is among those being inducted into the Mountain Home Education Foundation’s Hall of Honor Thursday night. Jim Bodenhamer, who spent over 40 years as a journalist in Mountain Home, is being inducted in the Distinguished Alumnus category.

Bodenhamer says he is excited about the honor, and his time at Mountain Home High School helped prepare him for the future.

Bodenhamer started his journalism career after spending time in the military following college.

Under his tutelage, KTLO news quickly became the most awarded news staff in the state of Arkansas, dominating the Arkansas Associated Press awards year after year. Bodenhamer retired as KTLO’s news director in 2013. He says there are several stories from his illustrious career that stand out.

In addition to his career in journalism, Bodenhamer served in the U.S. Army 34 years.

Bodenhamer will join retired educator Janet Wood, community partners Dr. Rob Conner and All Creatures Veterinary Hospital and Earnest Perry Award winner Judy St. Clair in the Class of 2021 during the Mountain Home Education Foundation’s Night of Honors Thursday at 5:30 at Dunbar Auditorium on the campus of Mountain Home High School Career Academies.
