The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) has confirmed the boil water notice issued by Kris Kanatzar from the Brunner Hill Water Association in southern Baxter County. The impacted area includes Jordan Road from State Highway 177 Southwest to the end of the line on Jordan
Road.
The order was issued as a precautionary measure due to the possibility contaminated water may have entered the distribution system as a result of a loss in normal system pressure.
Under the boil water notice, all impacted customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
The notice will be lifted by ADH when one set of two bacteriological samples indicate the water is free of bacterial contamination and an adequate disinfectant level is established throughout the distribution system.
The ADH website also indicates a boil order remains in place for the Hosanna Heights Water system in Fulton County. The order is a result of confirmed E coli in a water sample.
