Area teen injured after vehicle overturns in Southern Missouri

An area teen was injured in a one-vehicle accident Friday morning in Southern Missouri. The unidentified 15-year-old juvenile female from Lead Hill was transported to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield with what were described as minor injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the teen was a passenger in an SUV driven by 18-year-old Robert Alexander II of Kimberling City on Missouri Highway 13. They were nearly 3 miles south of Lampe in Stone County when the SUV traveled off the roadway and overturned.

Alexander was not injured, but his SUV was totaled in the 8:10 a.m. accident.
