High school scoreboards
During last week’s meeting, the Mountain Home School Board approved of new equipment in two facilities used by the athletic program. New scoreboards are set to come in to Bomber Gymnasium on the campus of Mountain Home High School Career Academies and to the gym on the junior high campus.
Mountain Home Athletic Director Mitch Huskey says there are multiple reasons why they needed new scoreboards.
Listen:
Mountain Home is ordering Fair-Play brand scoreboards through Little Rock-based Rainey Electronics. Huskey says the district will be assisted with the cost of the scoreboards by Anstaff Bank, First Security Bank and Arvest Bank.
Listen:
The high school will have a two-sided scoreboard at 5 feet high and 17 feet wide hanging from the center of the Hangar. There will also be a board hanging from the wall at each end of the court. One is 9 feet high and 15 feet wide and includes areas to show the numbers, points and fouls for each player on the floor. The other is 9 feet high and 9 feet wide. In addition, clocks will be installed in each locker room for players and coaches to know the amount of time available before they need to return to the court.
The junior high will have identical scoreboards on each end of the court. Both are 9 feet high and 9 feet wide.
Huskey also says shot clocks will be installed in both gyms.

The district is hoping to have the scoreboards shipped and installed in January.
