
With the deadline to pay property taxes in Missouri quickly approaching, Ozark County residents are reminded they can make payments online through the Ozark County collector’s website.County Collector Darla Sullivan tells the Ozark County Times most of the county’s annual tax statements have been mailed, with the exception of a few statements being held back pending the transfer of ownership of property.Sullivan says the collector’s website offers a quick and efficient way to pay taxes at the residents’ convenience. A fee is charged for online payments. E-check payments, the lowest-fee option, draws the payment directly from the taxpayer’s checking account, with a fee of $1.75.
Credit and debit card payments have varying fees beginning with a flat fee of $3.95 for Visa debit. All other debit and credit cards charge 2.4% of the total taxes, with a minimum of $1.50.
Sullivan says residents should be aware New Year’s Day falls on a Saturday in 2022, meaning that offices in the Ozark County Courthouse will be closed Friday, Dec. 31, in observance of the holiday. However, the collector’s office will remain open that day for regular business hours.
