
Tuesday is a busy day for high school basketball, as Mountain Home begins hosting its big holiday event. The Ultimate Auto Group Basketball Tournament will begin its three-day run at the high school and junior high campuses.
The Lady Bombers’ opening opponent will be Flippin. Mountain Home is 2-8 on the season after losing to West Plains 10 days ago. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:40.
The Bomber boys will have the last game of the night at the Hangar, as they meet Junction City. Mountain Home has a record of 1-8 after falling to Rogers last week. Game-time is scheduled for 8.
All of Mountain Home’s games in the tournament will be on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and on the Bomber Sports Network channel on YouTube.
In the other games at Bomber Gymnasium, Rogers’ girls face Fayette-Ware from Somersville, Tennessee, at 4, and the Cave City boys take on Farmington at 5:20.
Four games will also be played on the junior high campus. On the girls’ side, Valley Springs and Springdale Har-Ber tip off at 4, and Paragould plays Farmington at 6:40. On the boys’ bracket, Mountain Home Christian Academy is paired with Greene County Tech at 5:20, and Flippin meets Paragould at 8.

The North Arkansas College Invitational Tournament will begin its quarterfinal round at the Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison. In the boys’ games, Mountain View and Omaha get started at 4, and top-seeded Jasper faces Shirley at 6:40. In girls’ action, Ozark Mountain takes on Mountain View at 5:20, and top-seeded Norfork plays Marshall at 8.
The Arkansas State University-Mountain Home/Arvest Bank Winter Jam will continue at Yellville-Summit. Bakersfield and Lead Hill will have a doubleheader starting with the boys at 4, and the host Panther teams will be matched up with Couch at 6:30.
Four area boys’ teams will play their second games in the Cabool Holiday Tournament. On the consolation side, Dora and Summersville get underway at 9, and Lutie meets Eminence at noon. In the quarterfinals, Viola faces top-seeded Thayer at 3, and Gainesville takes on Mansfield at 7:30.
Viola’s girls will be in Berryville for their first game in Holiday Hoops. The Lady Longhorns will play Danville at 12:40.
Four area schools will have their boys’ teams at Highland for the Bad Boy Mowers Ronnie Brogdon Invitational Tournament. In the Maverick Division, Mammoth Spring goes up against Manila at 10, Izard County’s junior varsity squad meets the host Rebels at 3, and Calico Rock faces Melbourne at 6:45. Izard County’s varsity team will take part in the Outlaw Division as they take on Batesville at 1:45.
Two area girls’ teams will play their second games in the Mountain Grove Holiday Girls Basketball Tournament. Gainesville plays Alton on the consolation side at 1:30, and Dora will be paired with Houston in the quarterfinals at 4:30.
The Melbourne girls return to Jonesboro for the Division II semifinals of the NEA Invitational Basketball Tournament. The Lady Bearkatz meet Greene County Tech at 3 inside First National Bank Arena on the campus of Arkansas State University.
Two area boys’ teams will face off in the Lendel Thomas Classic at Harrison. Bergman faces the host Goblins at 7.
Bergman’s girls will be in Russellville for their opening game in Hoops for Hunger. The Lady Panthers take on Dardanelle at 4.
