Two people were arrested earlier this month in Stone County following a report of shots being fired near residences.

An investigation into the incident has led to the arrests of 46-year-old Kim L. Banks and 48-year-old Kenneth Carl Christensen.

According to the probable cause affidavit, deputies responded to the 200 block of Roaring River Road regarding the gunshots.

One of the deputies spoke to Banks in the doorway of the residence. The deputy noted both Banks and Christenson are familiar to law enforcement and were out on bond on drug charges.

The deputy reported smelling marijuana and seeing a clear container holding cannabis on the counter, along with jewelry baggies.

Banks advised she had two guns in a closet. She said neither had been shot and invited the deputy inside to examine the weapons.

He found the weapons where Banks indicated they were in a bedroom closet. In the room, he found Christensen in the bed. When the deputy turned his back, Banks reportedly shoved the guns back into the closet and shut the door.

Banks was taken into custody for possession of marijuana and for having violated the conditions of her bond. Christensen was arrested for possession of firearms by certain persons and possession of marijuana. Neither have a medical marijuana card.

Law enforcement obtained a search warrant and inside the residence the next morning they reportedly located an AR-15 rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun, a .22 caliber rifle and two 9mm pistols, along with 9 ounces of marijana and drug paraphernalia.

A brick of finely processed marijuana was located in a safe with a gun. Numerous rounds of ammunition were found throughout the residence, as well as a gun cleaning kit. Multiple surveillance cameras were located, as well as spent .223 casings on the ground in the back yard and in a back shed.

Christensen has more than four felonies in numerous states and is being held on a $75,000 bond. Banks has since posted a $10,000 bond.
