A Gassville man who was caught with drugs in his vehicle in May and in his residence in July appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Monday.

Twenty-nine-year-old Ian Lapio pled guilty to the charges against him stemming from both incidents and was sentenced to four years in prison.

MAY ARREST

In early May last year, the vehicle Lapio was driving was stopped by an Arkansas State trooper for a traffic infraction.

According to the probable cause affidavit, when Lapio exited the SUV, a glass smoking pipe fell to the ground. The trooper reported Lapio attempted to conceal the item.

Methamphetamine and marijuana were found in the vehicle, along with paraphernalia to ingest drugs.

When he was questioned, Lapio is reported to have admitted the items were his.

JULY ARREST

In early July, a compliance visit was made to Lapio’s home, located along Buford Cutoff Road in Gassville. At the time, he was on probation with a search waiver on file.

Methamphetamine and two glass smoking devices were found.
