MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. — Lauren Dewey, a freshman at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, received the Susan & Steve Blumreich Business Scholarship from the Mountain Home Education Foundation (MHEF), after graduating summa cum laude from Mountain Home High School last spring.
The $2,500 scholarship was donated to the MHEF by the Blumreichs to support students who have created a business plan while in high school with intentions to continue their education in a business field. Dewey created a business plan for a Future Business Leaders of America competition her senior year.
Dewey says the scholarship has made a lasting impact. “This year my family has two students in college, and the scholarship money from the MHEF really lessened the financial burden for my family,” she says. “It allowed me to focus on my academics and the extracurricular opportunities that are available at my university. I am so grateful to the Blumreichs and to the MHEF for this scholarship.”
Dewey majors in accounting with a minor in marketing and is also a member of the ASU Red Wolves Dance Team. She is the daughter of Chad and Allyson Dewey of Mountain Home.
