A Stone County man is facing theft and drug-related charges following his arrest Friday.
Stone County Chief Deputy Dammon McGilton says 58-year-old Terry Guthrie of Mountain View was taken into custody following the execution of a stolen property search warrant on Moore Road.
The warrant was executed after a complaint of a theft from Excel Boats involving an employee. Investigators located 12 outboard motor mufflers belonging to Excel Boats in Mountain View, valued at over $5,000, approximately 1.7 pounds of marijuana packaged in separate packages, 3.4 grams of methamphetamine, multiple firearms, two sets of digital scales, marijuana grinders, baggies, methamphetamine smoking devices and syringes.
Guthrie was arrested for
• possession of crystal meth, 2-10 grams, a Class C felony;
• possession of marijuana with the purpose to deliver over 4 ounces but less than 25 pounds, a Class C felony;
• simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a Class Y felony;
• maintaining a drug premises, a Class C felony;
• theft of property, over $5,000 but less than $25,000, a Class C felony; and
• possession of a firearm by a certain person, a Class D felony.
Guthrie has prior felony convictions and will be charged as a habitual offender.
Investigators seized $18,410 in U.S. currency and eight firearms.
The amount of his bond was not provided.
Guthrie is pending a first appearance in Stone County Circuit Court.
In addition to the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, investigators with the Mountain View Police Department and the drug task force were involved with the search and arrest.
