MH boys finish 2nd, girls end up 4th in state swim meet

The Mountain Home High School swim teams wrapped up their season Saturday in the Class 5A State Meet at Russellville.

The Bomber boys finished as runners-up for the second consecutive year. Aidan Wilson led Mountain Home by finishing second in the 200-yard individual medley and third in backstroke and Gaige Chaney was third in 100-yard freestyle. In addition, the team of Caleb Due, Brandon Belicek, Wilson and Chaney gained All-State status by finishing second in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The Lady Bombers took fourth place on the girls’ side. Maddie Lynch won the 200-yard freestyle in school record time and broke her own record in winning the 100-yard butterfly. Joia Traver took third in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyles. The team of Sierra Trogdon, Kendra McLean, Traver and Lynch won the 200-yard freestyle relay.   Trogdon, Maggie Thompson, Traver and Lynch were second in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
