The Marion County treasurer will be seeking another position in the county during this year’s election. Carla Purdome filed as a Republican for the position of Marion County collector on Feb. 22.
Purdome started working in the Marion County Courthouse in 2004 and has experience in the collector’s and assessor’s offices. She was appointed as treasurer following the retirement of the late Ron McPherson at the end of July 2020. Purdome says she has 36 years of accounting experience.
Purdome and her husband, John, moved to Yellville from Phoenix in 2003. They’ve been married for 32 years and have four children, 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Purdome will face Angela Goodman in the May primary. Both are looking to succeed current collector Anthony Todaro, a candidate for Purdome’s current seat.
